This policy explains what information StepToMilesCalculator.com ("we", "this site") does and does not collect, in plain language.
The calculator collects nothing
Every calculation runs entirely in your browser. The step counts, height, sex, step length or any other value you enter into the calculator are never transmitted to our server, never stored, and never shared. Closing the page erases them. There are no accounts and no signup.
What is collected automatically
Like almost every website, the server that hosts this site keeps standard access logs. When you load a page, the hosting provider (Hostinger) may record your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. These logs are used for security and keeping the site running, not for profiling.
Fonts
The site loads the Manrope and Inter typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser requests those font files, Google receives the technical data involved in any web request, such as your IP address. See Google's own privacy policy for how Google handles that data.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
Analytics. This site uses Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit) to understand aggregate traffic — which pages are visited and roughly how often. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives technical data such as your IP address and browser type.
Advertising. This site uses Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google at Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
- Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalised ads or advertising cookies are used.
How Google uses data from sites that use its services is explained at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. We do not sell visitor data, and nothing you enter into the calculator is ever sent to Google, to an advertiser or to us. WordPress may also set strictly functional cookies (for example if you ever log in, which visitors do not).
If you email us through the contact page, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply, and we do not add you to any list.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. The calculator has no inputs that leave your device.

If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with an updated date at the top.
